MAKANTAO:

I actually was sitting down in that waiting room, and it was really praying. I felt myself expanding like totally in my headroom. Something was opening. I felt totally connected. And I said, Okay, if this is working out good for me, I gonna go my path. I gonna go that way. I gonna do it my way, the way it needs to be done, and I gonna show myself to the world.

Nicole Gottselig:

In this episode, you'll hear about how listening to his body and soul was key to his transformation. I can tell we're so happy to have you here. First of all, tell us who you are.

MAKANTAO:

Well, thank you, Nicole, for this really lovely introduction. It's a pleasure for me to be on this show. I really like the title of the show, and I really like you having me on the show as we, as you told earlier we were working together, and this was a beautiful journey for both of us. So I'm really happy to do this a lot was already in your introduction. I do shamanic healing work, and I'm also a coach, and this is goes really hand in hand. And also I do music to transport this kind of information of healing and like more transcendental information to the people. The music was actually how it started off, my own journey, on my own path as a healer. But the whole story began very early in my life. Around 16 or 17, I started like joining a group for spiritual work, and that's how I actually got connected to, yeah, my own spiritual path.

Nicole Gottselig:

Okay, there's already a lot to unpack here. Let's just back it up for all our listeners, let's first start off with tell me about or tell us about your healing. Or what is shamanic healing? What does that even mean? It is

MAKANTAO:

a really good question, because, of course, now we all have a different connection towards and shamanic healing definitely roots back to another time where shamanism was broadly spread on the world, all over the world, actually, and it's interesting, it's going to be defined as well, one of the oldest, I don't even like the word. It's not a religion, but that's what it's going to be called, the oldest religion of people. So it's actually more a connection to the nature and actually a connection to the source of all of it, which a lot of people do find in nature, or by being connected to the nature.

Nicole Gottselig:

So how did you even get started? Because when I think of shamanism, I think of places like Peru, Colombia, Brazil, even Mexico. And I think of having to go to these, you know, hot places with lots of indigenous people, and I feel like I'd have to make some kind of a journey to get there, but in today's more mainstream conscious communities, I hear that word a lot. So how could I experience shamanic healing, just as like a average person who works every day, you know, has to take care of my kids, maybe, or has to look after like, how can I get more in touch with nature?

MAKANTAO:

Yeah, that's um, that's really good question, especially for us living in the city or maybe being very busy around in our jobs. So how can we actually connect back to what is essential for us, and that is obviously nature for a lot of people. Well, first of all, it's about your own priorities. If you focus only on achieving certain goals in your job, that might be good for what you are longing for, but it might not be good for your whole system if you look at it in a holistic way. So it might be about prioritizing, like bringing in some time for yourself. And mean, there are approaches out there from a lot of coaches who say, like, Hey, have a work life balance. That's a very overused word, maybe, but it's really about bringing back priorities for yourself. So there is that part where you maybe want to achieve certain things in your work, and then there's this other part where you might even want to reconnect with nature or reconnect with yourself, and for that, we actually need to take time. If you give things attention, then they can grow. If you give Like the time in nature, the time with yourself, attention, then there is an expansion that might be able to happen for you. Work

Nicole Gottselig:

life balance feels like this word that everybody uses right now, and it's like, I have my work life, I have my home life, but in reality, it's all the same. Thing is there, there's, there's. Really feels like there's no disconnect for me as a as a person who who goes to work every day. How could you help us figure out what this actually means and how we can have more balance in our lives? Or what does it actually mean to you? Yeah,

MAKANTAO:

it's I like that actually, yeah, work life balance is used very often in this context, and I have the feeling for a lot of people it means more like, oh, I have my work and then I actually need to balance it to don't get burned out for me. That's not really work life balance. Or maybe that's not the original intention of this word. Or if you look on it, on a router, on a wider angle, it might be even more be used as you just already pointed on it, more like we should really try and figure out, how can we actually bring a balance into us and from this point within us, going to work and also going to use our spare time. So if we center ourselves a little bit more in us, which is probably connected a lot to our values, what is prioritized in my life. If I prioritize to be connected within myself, if I prioritize to have connections to other people, and if I also prioritize to be a human being on a beautiful journey on this earth, and not reaching out for something that might come in the future, and not reaching out for the big house and even bigger car that one day will make me happy, then we might come a bit closer to ourselves and to a certain being that can expand within a very different way as we originally thought. And being more connected to ourself will bring a lot of abundance too, usually, because if we really connect within ourselves, there is a lot of abundance. Actually, the whole world is full of abundance. If we go out and look at the nature, look, we see beautiful flowers. We see trees and everything like, especially in springtime, everything is like bloomishing, and it's a lot of colors, and it's so rich, and we got told that we need to work hard, and this abundance is just for the one who got really work hard and really make it to the goals and keep their to their timelines. But nobody, or very little, people tell us that we can have a lot of abundance just by opening up to the beauty of the being. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying there's certain steps that need to be done, especially we live in a materialistic world, so you might want to do some of these steps, but never forget, actually your source where you're coming from, and then the opening and the attracting of abundance is way more easy. And firstly, we need to feel it in our heart. For a lot of people who really go that path of spiritual way, they don't care so much about money. For them, it's more about really connecting with people, connecting in their heart. And I know this path is not for everybody, and I totally support like this middle ground, like this, this middle pathway where we can bring it together, like be connected to ourselves, still reaching out and having our goals and bringing something into the world, and come with this heart full of abundance. And from there, we can create and bring new things to life, and that's actually what I want to do, and that's also what I want to bring to the people.

Nicole Gottselig:

This reminds me of an experience that we had together as healer, and I don't want to, I guess, client or risk. Recipient, let's say right, coming from the corporate system, I was burnt out, exhausted and about, maybe for all the Canadians listening and Americans listening right now, about 30 pounds heavier than I'd ever been in my life, and no matter what I ate or what I did, I was just getting heavier and heavier and puffier and puffier and more fatigued and more tired and more dead and more drained. And I thought, Oh, it's good because of this and that, that this, this and this, this is where this work life balance come to place. Everything for me was completely imbalanced. And one of the things we worked at with in one of our shamanic healing sessions was actually getting to the root cause of this. This, this superficial thing that was happening to me, which was having to be weight gain and fatigue and exhaustion and pain, etc, etc. So Matt, can tell, maybe you can walk us through how you helped me from being 30 pounds overweight to now most of the weight being gone and actually less than six months, not changing my diet, not changing my exercise routine, actually not really doing anything, but that's where the healing stuff come in. So maybe you can tell us more about that and how we did that together.

MAKANTAO:

Totally, yeah, that was really beautiful. Working with you on this. Well, we didn't work on actually any weight that you wanted to lose that was actually not at the forefront of our working. It just came that at one in one session, I happen to see that there are layers around you that actually protect you from something. Layers around you that want to go actually felt really how a stuck energy is in your system. And in that moment I channel for you also that there is actually weight that wants to leave. So first of all, this was really great, and you were in that phase in your life where you wanted to let go of something, and you were ready to have a big change, and you really took it all the way, and we could work through that, and you were totally open to let go. And that's why the change was happening on the outside. I'm saying this because everybody on this earth is on a different mission, on a different journey, and we all bring different gifts. For some of us, we want to we come to a part in our life where we want to change, and we have some layers built around us to protect us, which is totally normal. This world can be challenging. It can be sometimes not easy, and we have different ways to protect us. For some is also a physical way how they protect themselves. But definitely, I want to point out that it is not the case for everybody. For some people, is it different? There are different reasons they're like, maybe it's even a genetic thing, which is all combined. You know, our genes, our heritage, like our soul and emotional heritage, they all come together in some point. So it's not like that one way for everybody. So in whatever condition you are and however you feel, this is all good, but for some people, it might be the right time to get rid of some stuff. And for some that's in a physical way. For others, it's in a very different way. And for you, it was a combination of more of these, and now it's also, we can see it also on your body, but that's actually just a side effect. The most important thing for you was a lot opening up and letting go. And it's even better, as I guess, for you, it was a really nice side effect to have this and have actually, like, getting rid of this protection

Nicole Gottselig:

Absolutely, and a lot of sometimes, what, when we everybody who's listening to this podcast, a lot of times, when we get into automatic pilot, we get into these routines, and we get into a system of doing all the time. We forget what matters to to us and what we need, and then we sometimes lose that connection to our life purpose and our soul's mission, or just forgetting what it's like to actually be a human in the world again. And so that's why these different modalities of healing and looking within are what allows us to really, to grow and expand. And it's sometimes people say too. It's like, you know, one person can't make a difference. But sometimes all it takes is just one person that says, Hey, I see this in you. I see your light. And let's walk this, this path together as well. So it's really about you. Building others up instead of tearing them down as well. I mean, that's a bit of a different tangent as well.

MAKANTAO:

Absolutely, yeah, and it's also really good. Well, it's a really good like intention for ourselves. If we are ready to build up others, we actually build up ourselves. I do understand also the feeling of jealousy that's broadly spread in our society. Also, some neighbors have a bigger house or a bigger car, and then we have the feeling, are we lacking something? But firstly, we never know what's going on in a person. They might be very unhappy, or they might have had a really hard time before they were able to achieve that big, that bigger goal in our life, and also the more we going to like, have like we going to the more we are happy with these people, the more we can actually tune into the same vibration. And it's really coming down. Always about having a higher vibration, if you want to rise and rising in that sense, it's not only about money, because then we just rise in one way, really spreading, or, as you said, also expanding our energy, and that would bring in all the gifts that we can have and live in on this earth, like having an Open Heart, first of all, having an ability to really be seen and also be able to see others, which also brings back the connection. We want to connect with us. We want to connect with others. We want to connect with nature. And that's why a lot of people, even if they don't have a strong spiritual connection, they tell me, or they it's they tell others like, wow, I can really connect when I'm in the forest. I can really connect when I'm out in a big landscape, because there we have the ability to reconnect to ourselves firstly, and then we start opening our eyes, and then we suddenly are able to see the beauty around us. And sometimes, in a tight city, we tend to lose that connection, and there's a lot of hassle going on, a lot of people rushing by. And then for us, it's not so easy to really see all the beauty that also exists in the city, but it helps us sometimes, to come back to nature, to reconnect.

Nicole Gottselig:

You know, I know I'm always looking for new ways to raise my vibration, besides some of the obvious ones that I know of, and I know a lot of people listening will want to be like, hey, I want to start raising my vibration right away. So what are some ways that you know, our listeners can can start to easily raise their vibration, really naturally, and incorporate into, like, their daily routines.

MAKANTAO:

Well, I think firstly, it's a decision. If you decide, Hey, okay, I've been on this path for quite a while. I gonna do mistakes. That's totally Newman. I gonna have some loops, come back, make some achievements, then I come back to an old version of myself. That's also totally okay. But maybe now there's a point you You've done enough of enough of that, and you say, like, Hey, okay, I want to start over. What can I bring into my life that is good for me, something that is also totally something that I can integrate easily, that doesn't feel like an extra job, and what is actually something that connects me better to myself and maybe also to others. And then you can, like, start maybe investigating a little bit what suits you. For some people, it's a morning routine, like getting up a little bit earlier, and then maybe have some meditation, have some yoga, or maybe some, just some stretching. I really recommend not doing, not just doing something that people might tell you. Maybe some people you need half an hour of that yoga routine. You're going to be perfect. Maybe it's not for you. Maybe you just want to do 10 minutes of it and then have some nice, intuitive stretching. I'm not a good student. I usually just do stuff for maybe a little while, and then I start, like, bringing out my own things, because I need to have it my way. That's how I can stay. I stick with it. And I recommend that for you, do it what feels good for you, but at least set a little bit of a time frame to keep it like, like regular, to do it like every day or maybe three times a week. And the other thing is, again, about your intention, like, if this is important for you, if you want to connect more and give your life more life, because we are often living for the future. But if you really have that urge of saying, Wait, I really need to live right now, you can actually really start by checking, what does you good? What connects you well? Is it like an evening with people that are like on the same vibration as you are? Is it maybe cutting down a little bit the work for some people? Is it okay to earn a little bit less but have a little bit more? More free time for others, maybe focus a little bit more on your really important goals, because often we think also like I need to do this. I don't need to do that really. Go through your schedule and go through your life planning and see what is really important. Is that really important for you to do whatever a certain task, or can you maybe just skip it if you feel, if you connect to the center of your heart and really feel into what lets you grow. And I really want to combine. I'm also sometimes a teacher, so it's really important for me not just go to that one spiritual way of the heart, and we all get lost in the universe. All feels connected. That's a great feeling, to be honest. But then again, we are on earth. That's a certain experience we have here, and for that experience, you might want to bring it together. So I really encourage you to open up, feel your heart connect, and then focus what is important in my life, what centers me, what connects me, what keeps me there. And sometimes maybe do some steps that don't feel so good, but they really bring you a step further ahead. I think that's might be a good way for you to go if you want to raise your energy, and maybe even, like, raise some abundance in your life. In many ways, what really

Nicole Gottselig:

stands out for my conversation with MAKANTAO is how he's fully embraced his role as a guide for others on their healing journeys. He's not someone who sits in the background, following someone else's lead. He really steps confidently into his own path and leads by example. His way of empowering others to find their truth is deeply rooted in helping them tap into their own inner strength, whether it's through music, nature or deep soul work, it's his unique blend of healing practices that support his clients to find balance, both physically and spiritually. But let's be real. Changing ourselves, especially when we've been people pleasers or feel trapped in old patterns is not easy, whether it's the expectations we place on ourselves or the pressures we feel from authority figures, it can be hard to draw that line and say, Hey, this isn't working for me. So I have to ask, Was there a moment in MAKANTAO's life when he decided this is my truth and I'm gonna stand in it? Stay tuned, because we're about to dive into that next I'm curious. Did anything happen where you said, No, this is just not working anymore, and this is how I need to do it from now, and this is my truth. This is my power, and I'm going to stand in it. Did you just wake up one day?

MAKANTAO:

Yeah, interesting question. So, well, first of all, I was never really good in adapting too much, but I don't want to say that I didn't do it so. But what I always knew is like, Okay, I'm gonna do that for a while, pretending that I gotta fit in here. But in my heart, I always knew that's not my thing, or it's not my thing all the way. But there were also steps for me, I had to take, like, like, at least like, finding my way into society, although me, personally, always been more on the side of society. That was probably the closest I can get. Yet there was always a strong longing in my heart, like I always felt this connection, even though sometimes I adapted in certain phases a little bit to my outside or things I felt I needed to do, there was always this strong feeling inside myself, this is not who I am. This is not fully who I am. I just couldn't forget that there was always so strong in in the core of who I am, and I really want to invite people to remember that too. And that's also, by the way, a strong message from my work is like reminding people of who they are this ocean of love, or really this big core of love that's spreading out. And if you come from that place, a lot of stuff in the world feels quite weird to you. But then, of course, there's so many people telling you you have to do that, you have to do that, and that's probably the right way. And you're like, wow, okay, I'll try a little bit, but that feels kind of weird. Anyway, we try our best all to get where maybe we feel we need to go. And I made always steps on my path. So even though I was working maybe in media, and was working even in front of the camera on the side, I was always like joining spiritual retreats and growing by myself, reading books, investigating a lot in myself. So the one thing is to learn from the outside, but a big point is really to learn from the inside. Listen to your inside, take your time and really open up and listen what's coming out of you. So I took a lot of time for that inner growing and. It, yeah, I still somehow was always hesitating with bringing this side of myself really to the outside and make this my job for that, it actually needed an accident, which is felt really weird for myself, because I'm spiritual since my youth, maybe even before, my sister was teaching me astrology, and as I was still a kid, and so I was connected to all of this very early in my life. And so I had a ski accident that really changed a lot, because, for for a certain reason, at least for one or two days, it was unclear if I'm still if I will still be able to walk or not because the doctors didn't know they were not experienced in that field, and also they probably didn't have, like, the right machines to really check what's going on. So anyway, I was confronted with an uncertainty in my life, and well, I was always used to dance to be free. I was even a dancer in my early life, like, I love that very much. And I was used to be very flexible in my body and do what feels good to me. So this information was really hard for me. It was totally like, I cannot believe that this is happening to me. But as I am, was already a grown person, also from the spiritual side. I knew this is not a coincidence, this is happening. And I was in a situation where I felt kind of trapped in a relationship and I couldn't move out of it, because it was kind of like, like like mirroring a lot, like the structure of my my own heritage, family. So with this accident, it really shook me up. And I made it happen that I came back to the city where I was living back then in Cologne, to reach out to another hospital to get like opinion of a specialist. And before that, we need to do we needed to do another x ray to really confirm if there is like in German, we say a conservative way, which means no operation and everything is okay. And before that X ray. I actually was sitting down in that waiting room, and it was really praying. I felt myself expanding like they were totally in my headroom. Something was opening. I felt totally connected. And I said, Okay, if this is working out good for me, I gonna go my path. I gonna go that way. I gonna do it my way, the way it needs to be done, and I gonna show myself to the world if this is gonna end up good for me.

Nicole Gottselig:

So right there, macinto had reached a pivotal moment. I'm gonna show myself to the world if this is going to end up good for me.

MAKANTAO:

And it did. So things were actually fine. They weren't as bad as they sounded first. Way. Still, it took me half a year to come back to my old condition and well, from there, a lot of things opened.

Nicole Gottselig:

What MAKANTAO experienced after that life altering ski accident wasn't just physical recovery, though these moments, what you might call Wake Up Calls are where transformation often begins, and not everyone uses them as a catalyst for change. They can feel like dark, terrifying, unknowns, but within that darkness, there's always a gift. It's in those moments we have a choice. We can stay where we are, or we can take that wake up call and use it as an opportunity to take back the wheel, to steer our life in a direction that truly aligns with who we are. And that's exactly what MAKANTAO did after his ski accident, and now through his work, he helps others do the same, finding balance, raising their vibration, and living in alignment with what truly matters. So you'll want to stick around as we go into the final part of our conversation. You'll learn how to trust your intuition, find balance and tools that you can use to stay connected to your purpose, even in this conversation today, one thing that seems to be an overarching theme with you is trust yourself, trusting yourself, trusting yourself, believing in yourself and actually trusting that intuition, that inner voice that comes through so for those of us, was pretty much everyone in today's society who are bombarded by Doom scrolling anxiety and lots of anxiety, lots of what ifs. How do we know if we're actually failing intuition, or if we are fortune telling and going. To catastrophizing anxiety?

MAKANTAO:

Well, that's for sure, a tricky question, also a tricky something to answer to, but I want to give it a good try. Well, usually anxiety is very loud, and also things that we are afraid of are very loud, or also worries they are really loud. So there's a lot of noise in our head, a lot of maybe even combined with anger or fear in the case of anxiety. And you might have experienced that more often in your life already in the past, and realized later on, oh, it maybe wasn't that strong, or it was not really the source of all of it. So if that's a really familiar feeling for you, and you know it somehow from the past, there is this really, there is this voice that is not allowed in the background, a reminder that, hey, it's not, it's not working like that. It's not really that loud usually. Then maybe that's a good indicator for you to look a bit deeper and maybe just ground yourself. Sit down a little bit, breathe. It's always helping. The regular breathing always brings us back to our natural being, into the moment, which is essential because anxiety, fear, worries, they all happen future and past. So if you come back to this moment by breathing, by allowing us to be here and now, we can actually feel a bit deeper and see if this really is anxiety or it's maybe just something from the past that we experienced before, and because the situation we experiences is a little bit in the same direction, automatically, a trigger happens in our head and makes it really loud and noisy and really brings up a lot of fear, a lot of worries. So by sitting down relaxing, we can feel into it again, and feeling into our intuition. Is it really like that. And mostly there's, again, this voice that's coming from within you telling you something else. There might be a few relations, but actually it's something else or something I just need to sit down and really wait a little bit to see clearer what's going on. And that's something that might be helpful for you in everyday life to really bring you out of a certain anxiety state, or of mom situations that are very uncomfortable. And also, yeah, regarding fights that might also help. If you have, like, a fight with your partner, or like something on, like, in your job, your business that, like, really worries you. Maybe also this one helps you to cool down before you make a next step, because then you can maybe see a bit clearer. And people feel that when you are grounded, when you are in your own energy, the people will feel that, and they will open up again. If you are closed, and if you're full of anger, full of fear, people feel that strong energy in your system, and they get defensive because they they want to protect themselves, and they just shoot back right away or do whatever they need as a reaction. Soon as you open up, a little bit, more people can come in, and the exchange can happen again. And you've, I'm sure you've experienced that before in your life. It's a good reminder here and now to come back into the present moment and then listen and feel again.

Nicole Gottselig:

Yeah, it's like that, that that saying. They say, you know, if you think you're enlightened, go spend time with your family, right? And it's all about sort of, it's like, you, you go home so, like, so or won't say, enlightened time. I'm so calm, I'm so zen, I'm so this. And then you go to week with your parents, and everything just goes out the window Totally, yeah, and it's like, but it's about, it's about that pause, right? And it's never really about what happens to us. It's how we react. And so many of us, of course, myself included, go into automatic pilot, you know? And then we get the trigger. And something you've taught me is really, you know, okay, when the thought comes up, and then it does the feeling, walk us through that again, because that's, that's something that's really useful, that people can actually use in their lives, and it actually helps, has really helped me a lot. First

MAKANTAO:

of all, I want to add, like, family can be really challenging, because that's the core, these are the core themes of this life you're in right now, and they can really easily confront you, because there's a lot of similarities that is very uncomfortable, and it takes a lot of courage. And yeah, I totally understand that. So what can we do? Definitely, when the thought comes up like you feel maybe something rising in your system, in your body, in your stomach, often is raising up here, maybe even through your heart. You feel it coming into your head like could be anger, could be fear, could be a mix of both of that. Just get out of this situation. Step out of the situation might be you want to leave the room. You. For some reason, we sometimes stay in the room where we don't feel comfortable. And if there's right now nothing to be solved, or we feel it doesn't move on, just allow yourself or even announce it, hey, I just need to step out a bit, five minutes. I need my own energy. Do that step out of whatever situation you're in and ground yourself. What really helps feeling your feet. So what you can do, like, really bring both feet to the floor. If you are in nature, or you have a meadow outside of the house, just just step on it. Like, really feel the grass, feel the ground, and really feel nature in you. And you automatically somewhere else. You are arriving in this present moment, and usually the fear or the anger already lowered. And so with this breathing, come back actually, and maybe you'd want to even reflect what was the trigger word in that moment, what happened the person maybe said a certain word you got triggered. And you might even be able to find why you do react on that word. Maybe there has been more misunderstandings in the past. Maybe there's something that's really hurting you around this topic. Maybe you have the idea that this person does this on purpose to hurt you. So it might be different things, but we actually never know. So what we could do, if the other person is willing to talk about it, come back and tell Hey, listen, I feel more grounded now. I don't want this situation like this with the two of us or in the situation we're in. Let's let me ask, are you okay that I ask you some questions. I felt heard from what you said, was there any intention from your side? And often the people don't do that on purpose. They're just like, Oh, I didn't know that. For me, it was something totally different. It's by clarifying what's really the deal here. It's like, really about speaking about what's the situation really easy. And by the way, these are, these are things we should learn in school. We don't. We learn a lot of math. We learn a lot of whatever. But, I mean, some of it is useful. Useful, definitely, but to a certain degree, then we don't need much of that anymore for later life, only if you want to specify in that field. But what we don't learn is to communicate, and that's really essential. We need to ask, Is that really true? Get like this question is really is it really true? That's also really good question for you. Like, get like this feedback from people. Hey, I have these thoughts right now. I'm sorry this sound might sound weird for you, but I just need to ask you, is it true I have this thought that you might have done this because, or is that true that you think this about me most of the time? People say Not at all, I'm just somewhere really else, and just by, like, getting this reinsurance over and over again, you might step out of fear, of worry, of anger, might learn that a lot of these things are happening within yourself, and that could really help you, like stepping a bit closer to yourself and leaving a bit behind, like the stories we have learned in the past.

Nicole Gottselig:

Yeah, this really thank you, I can tell because this is really in the workplace, especially, this is really practical and useful stuff that has no spiritual woo, woo around it, obviously, in the sense that we come into work just using the workplace, and we come into work with with all our history, all our triggers, all our traumas, and in a sense, if we have maybe insecure attachments or avoidant attachments, things like that, we're still interact we're still reenacting those with our co workers, with our colleagues. So and if we struggle with things like imposter syndrome, it can be easy to assume like, hey, you know, you know, my manager hates me because I didn't do this report on time or something like that, right? So where, whereas which is, which is something I can go into a lot, okay, I'm in trouble. Or ever I think I'm in trouble a lot. I'm in trouble. I'm trouble. But maybe I like that. What you say absolutely

MAKANTAO:

now we're coming actually back to the core of spiritual and psychological learning is really that everything on the outside is a mirror, so also whatever Ayahuasca is showing you is a mirror of yourself. So it's actually, there's nothing voovoo about it. It's just actually, actually, sorry, it's actually just the beauty you are experiencing within yourself. It's all the expansion that is actually possible within yourself. And that's quite an information. So there is not actually a plant or any substance out there that can create something that's not actually already existing within you, all the creativity, all the colors, all the fantasies that are a that you are able within your dreams, within your whatever journey you are in right now. Yeah. All this is possible within you. It's a mirror of yourself. That's the very positive side of it. Also a mirror of yourself is the outside that is coming on you, that's maybe fighting with you, that's maybe hasn't argued with you, that's actually a mirror of yourself. And that's sometimes not easy to take, but that's something if you understand it. At least. You might not want to live that all the time. Sometimes you maybe want to fight that's totally okay. It's human, but you might want to remember it, because then you know, okay, I know I have a little bit of this fight. I know it's actually really big part of me, but somehow I need to learn this again, and step by step, coming closer to yourself and see actually how the mirror on the outside can fade the more you get closer to yourself and understand the mirror. And you know, it's really not about getting perfect in this life, at least not for me. It's really about understanding and really asking yourself, do I want to do that again? It feels like boring. It feels like overused. Maybe just let's step out of it a bit, and maybe sometimes I just have a fight, and then, okay, so be it. But I feel it's probably for the most people who also who are listening today, the more we do things over and over again, we just get tired of them, and we understand that's really not the way to go, and maybe just move on and leave some of the stuff behind. Yeah,

Nicole Gottselig:

I love that. About the mirroring. You know, there's, there's a saying, like, if you meet one asshole in a day, you know, it's okay, you've met an asshole today, and just leave with them. You know, if you meet 2345678, assholes in a day, it's probably you, you, that's the asshole, and that's and that's really what you're you're mirroring and what you're reflecting, right? So absolutely, yeah, and our energy speaks before we do. So it's, you know, and it's about getting out of that victim mentality as well, and really about owning your space in the world, which you've really done so well, and which is really why it's such a gift to have you here, because you've really walked your own path. I mean, we haven't touched too much on about your early beginnings, but I think that's really important to share as well. And you know, what did you want to be when you were seven years old.

MAKANTAO:

That's weight seven. I think I wanted to be already a musician, or even like a pop star, but reflecting it back, I what I felt was I felt this expending energy, which I was still very connected when I was a child. It was very luckily at my home, in my house of my parents, I could be very free in who I am, how I feel so and I felt this expanding energy that I want to spread with the world. And so the closest of that was like a pop star, like spread this love, spread this spread all this inside of me, bringing it out. And so it's funny that now later in life, I came back to do music to holding big ceremonies with people just a bit different, but I'm doing music also with what I do. And I'm spreading this love. I'm spreading this inside out, and it's still growing. So the deeper I go within myself, the more of these different sides of me are coming out, and I really love that. So actually, yeah, as kids, we do really know parts of who we are, and we might translate it to something that is the closest to what we know. But it's really good to come back to these kind of things. And so I loved to dance, I love to do music. I love to spread my being who I am. And so, yeah, I just really enjoyed this love and for me later, like it was not so easy, like in school, especially then later in high school, I felt like, oh, there's such a different world out here. I felt so protected at home, within my family, and then suddenly there was like, these different energies and fights and about like, suppressing others or getting suppressed, or whatever was was around. I mean, kids can be hard, or, like, especially teenagers, and so it was actually not an easy time. I felt like I was very sensitive. I was a sensitive being, and then suddenly I have to, like, like, I don't know, like, pretend I'm very strong and like, I felt like I needed to build some walls around me to actually navigate through that time in school. And definitely not a good time. I felt there was, like, also a lot of good things happening. We had a choir, and we had a great musician teachers that, like, did great productions with us. So I really enjoyed that, but it also confronted me, like of a side of a world that was not so familiar for me beforehand, and I. I think that's a big struggle for a lot of kids, especially if they're a little bit more open, a little bit more sensitive. And again, I feel schools should definitely deliver more than just information. There's so much we can give these kids, so much openness, so much they can take in in this age, so much good information about themselves, about compassion, about being social with others, and what do we actually teach these kids? Like just functioning, getting up in the right time, sitting one hour, going to the next class? Definitely, there's good teachers out. I'm looking on the positive future. I think there's a really, really good approaches, but, yeah, coming back to me, that was not an easy time, but, well, it helped me searching. It helped me start searching, looking behind the mirror, like, what's actually going on here? What is this whole thing? I felt really bored in school. I didn't know what to do there. I like, I was not bad. I could have been way better, but I was just so bored, so I did not so much. So I just tried to get through it the easiest way. And actually it was more investigating. Okay, what is this all about? It cannot be like sitting around here and doing all these tasks they want us to do. So I started like daydreaming, thinking about the world, what is really about. And luckily, we had some good teachers, maybe in like language, where we talked about a deeper meaning of stuff that was interesting for me. Okay, what is this really? What's behind this all? What can we find here? Because this what I'm experiencing right now. This cannot be the story. And so that actually was the beginning of my journey. And then I was lucky to meet a person around 16 or 17 that had a friend who was doing like spiritual circles, like self awareness circles, where you can actually interact with people, feel your own energy, feel the energy of others, and experience a new dimension. And I got a lot of information suddenly about something that I was really curious about, that was actually my school. Then I was in school, was like, Yeah, that's the information I want. And I was thirsty and I was open, and these information came super easy to me, and I was start reading books. The only things, the only books I read in my life, were mostly spiritual books, because they I was interested in, that the other stuff, not for me, but that's okay. That's not the path of everybody, but that's my path. And I was really enjoying this new chapter in my life opening up. And from there, I met another spiritual, awakened teacher, that's at least what people were telling about him. And again, I was learning a lot of good things there. I had, like, really deep insights. I had deep openings there, on some retreats, and really get deeply, deeply connected to who I am. And this was so groundbreaking for me, like, really get reminded of who I am. And so even that shitty time in school, to be honest, was just preparing me to open up again, because, um, probably was meant for me to go through that phase and then open up to bring it to other people, actually, who are open to listen to it.

Nicole Gottselig:

Yeah, and it's really, it goes back to even with the ski accident, like there's never any Grace without, without the suffering. You know, unfortunately, it's not so it's, it sounds like these, these experiences really just helped you to become this, you know, beautiful human that you are today, and you've really taken those experiences, which, you know, I know it's easy to say, like to kind of talk about them as we are on a podcast, but going through that as a child, and those leave, those leave marks, you know, and it's, it's, it's beautiful To see how you share your heart so openly with the world, and especially we haven't really gone into your music much, but your music is really another facet of what you do, and it's it's really all has the same message, and it's connecting people, Showing people their light, expanding their hearts, allowing people to feel free, to be themselves, right? And that's one of the greatest gifts we can give another human, is allowing them to sit together, sit with another human, and say, Hey, I see you, and I still love you, and it's okay, and you're welcome here, you know. And you you do that so well for in your healing sessions, in your music, and even just, you know, interacting with you, you know, you're so many people feel very safe and empowered around, you know. So it's, it's really lovely that you have all these insights. And. This wisdom to share with everyone here today. So thank you.

MAKANTAO:

Thank you very much. Yeah, it's a pleasure for me really and have the ability to share this. And also, thank you for giving me this room and this your curiosity, your openness to listen and to hear what I have to say. And yeah, I'm really grateful for being able to share this with the world. I'm really grateful for being able to stand here today in my life. And parts of my life hasn't been haven't been an easy journey, but other parts have been very unique, and really, as you said earlier, they actually made it possible for me to step out and really see what's what's going on. And there is also, again, this gratefulness for all this. And we are living in a world of day and night, shadow and light, and as these two sides in this world are still strong for us in this society, especially also we have to go sometimes through harder phases, because there is all these different layers around us that need to break open, sometimes not in such a nice way, but it doesn't necessarily have to Be. And I feel, the more we are willing to share the good side, the open hearts, the positive side, the less we have to go through layers, or maybe the generations after us through layers that are hard to overcome, because we are already preparing a softer opening. We are preparing a world that is more compassionate with with all the beings, with all what's alive on this earth. And I really want to work for this purpose in this life, like bring people together, be compassionate and reunite, actually, this planet Earth, we are all connected. There is absolutely no separation, as much as we learn this somewhere out there. It's not true. If you feel in the core of your being who you are, you feel that you are connected with everything. And yeah, I want to bring you, help you coming together. Help us all coming together and remembering this beautiful life on Earth.
